NU Campus, Alcatel Lucent, and Microsoft

NU organized a tour on April 19th, 2010 for High-School students. The tour included a visit to the NU campus, Alcatel Lucent, and Microsoft. Accompanied by their supervisors, 30 students participated in the tour from four high schools in Cairo, namely: College de la Salle, Bashayer, Manor House, and Creative Language School.

The tour was intended to trigger the students’ interest in technology-related fields and provide information on future career prospects. At Alcatel Lucent, the students were given a presentation by the CSO Mr. Phillipe Chaumel introducing their line of business, followed by a presentation by Ms. Noha El Deiry, HR Director, on how to write their first resume, and how to avoid making some of the common mistakes. At Microsoft, the students were able to view the new features of Microsoft’s Windows 7, and were invited to apply for Microsoft summer training positions. The students also visited Nile University’s state-of-the-art campus facilities in Sheikh Zayed.
