EDUCATION

  • MS - in the Teaching of English as a FOREIGN Language from the American University in Cairo.
  • BS - in Anthropology- Sociology and a minor in Journalism.
  •        

RESEARCH INTERESTS

  • Have been involved in the writing and developing of specific course materials for For the different programs taught both in Egypt and abroad. I have also presented a number of papers in regional and international conferences in teaching academic writing and critical thinking skills.

EXPERIENCE

  • I have been involved in teaching EFL/ESP since 1970 at AUC and the British Council before moving to Bahrain where I coordinated the BA preparatory program and the English Business Program at Bahrain University. I have taught different levels of English courses ranging from Pre- freshman to post graduate students preparing for their MA/PHD degrees.


  • Since my return I have been involved in teaching courses in critical thinking/reading, and academic and research writing skills at AUC/City University, MSA and MIU universities before joining Nile University.

SOCIETIES & MEMBERSHIPS

  • Was Vice president of the AUC Alumni in Bahrain.


  • Have taken part in many teacher training courses at AUC and the British Council In Cairo. Have been part of teacher training programs both at AUC and the British council To train English teachers from the ministry of education before sending them abroad for further training .

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • Have Presented many papers and took part in many teleconferences dealing with the teaching of English and the importance of culture in the teaching of a foreign language both at AUC and at the American Embassy in Egypt.

  • Help students edit and polish their papers before submitting the final copy. Also help students needing guidance and help in specific language skills such as presentation skills, writing research papers, report writing etc.
